The Exmoor ponies (Ziggy, Fanta, Sunny and Fizz) had to go out with the mares today because the cows have been brought in for the winter. All the foals had reached the stage where I could catch each of them in the big barn and lead them around or groom them. Their education will continue next summer. In the meantime they'll enjoy running as a herd again. Here are some pictures of their release!

I smell freedom!

Follow me, girls!

Nearly there!

All together again

Just a quick note to say how fantastic your ponies look in the pics. We now have one of "yours" - Ilkerton Sherbert (pony number 6) - who is a complete poppet in every way. It's only down to people like yourselves, who are both hardworking and dedicated, that this wonderful native breed has survived. Long may it continue! You never know, maybe we'll visit for a holiday one day, with pony in tow!
