Sarah has proved to be such a good farm-sitter that we keep finding excuses to go away. This time, Chris and I went to Scotland to see George and deliver Moss, his puppy, to him. George is working as an under-stalker on the Glen Kinglass Estate, north of Oban. It was lovely to see him again, and also to see where he lives and works. The countryside is awesome, and makes Exmoor seem very tame. George has a cottage on the shores of Loch Etive, miles down a rough track from the nearest road, with no neighbours in sight. He has a beach nearby, and is considering buying a sea canoe for shopping expeditions. Ardmaddy is in this photo, but is difficult to spot! It's a small white dot at the edge of the trees in the centre-right of the photo. George also has a Jack Russel terrier called Midge, who was a bit jealous of Moss to begin with. However, they soon became friends:
Moss (the Cocker Spaniel puppy) settled in very quickly. It's doggy paradise there, with miles of countryside and lots of wildlife. These are photos of Moss exploring her new home, and George with Moss outside Ardmaddy:
